The WIDES disinfectant database helps hospitals, care facilities and public procurement bodies select disinfectants that are effective while posing the lowest possible hazards. It combines information on independently verified efficacy with a transparent assessment of the hazardous substances contained in each product.
WIDES is an industry-independent information system developed and operated within the City of Vienna’s ÖkoKauf Wien programme. The database provides free, detailed information on certified disinfectants, their ingredients and associated health and environmental hazards.
A colour code makes problematic substances and formulations visible at a glance and facilitates comparisons between suitable products for the same application.
